Housing Affordability Index – Part 1
We have all felt the sting of the rising cost of living. Why have housing prices (for purchase and rent) increased to the point that our children can never realize the dream of home ownership? We will begin the search for answers by first looking at the mechanics of calculating the Home Affordability Index. In part 2 of this article we will look at the factors many of the factors that have impacted prices.
Our discussions will be incomplete. I hope to open a broader discussion where we can identify solutions (other than price controls).
